The Challenge:

Kevin Haplin, a principal at mac-fusion, an Apple Specialist, one of Apple's elite group of Authorized Resellers and Service Providers, wanted to redeploy their web site using a modern content management system (CMS). Kevin found a solution written in Perl, but spent weeks trying to get it working properly.

The Solution:

Tyrell suggested mac-fusion try our beta (at the time) Plone Installer for Mac OS X. Kevin literally had a fully-functional Plone site running on his server within minutes of launching the installer. Kevin loved what he saw, and soon decided to use Plone as the basis for mac-fusion's new site. He and his team were able to do most things on their own, but for the things they didn't want to spend the time learning, he contacted Tyrell for technical support.

Kevin wanted a dynamic page showing currently running promotions, and a sidebar on other pages with summary-level promotion information. Tyrell developed an add-on product for Plone that provided this functionality.

Shortly thereafter, mac-fusion moved their Plone-based site into production use.

Recently, mac-fusion tapped Tyrell to add customer contact and registration forms to their site that store information in a MySQL database and notify them by email on submission.

The entire customized solution was provided in under half a week to implement and deploy.

The Result:

mac-fusion's new website has been online since the last week of February 2003, and enables them to easily provide current information to their customers. Kevin is ecstatic about Plone's enabling ease-of-use and advanced functionality, and that he and his team can easily provide current information to their customers.
