Jim Roepcke
Jim Roepcke
Software Developer
A never-resting advocate for knowledge management and collaboration, Jim Roepcke has deep skills in WebObjects, including the powerful Direct To Web framework, Cocoa, Plone/Zope/Python and Internet / web technologies in general.
Jim has been self-employed, and worked for private companies and public sector agencies. Previous to his association with Tyrell, Jim was a developer at NetStruxr, which created and released the powerful and popular Project Wonder frameworks for WebObjects as open source in 2001.
One reason Tyrell likes Jim is because he loves writing documentation - an essential task in the software lifecycle, but rarely a favorite of software developers. Jim contributed the Direct To Web chapters of the respected book, Professional WebObjects 5.0 with Java, published by WROX.
Right after Apple acquired NeXT in 1996, Jim started becoming familiar with and learning the OpenStep toolset. In January of 2002, Jim took the Cocoa Programming Course from the Big Nerd Ranch to augment his skill in Objective-C and Cocoa development.
